As the year is coming to a closer end I can really say that I have improved my writing skills. When I first started this semester I still had some problem forming an essay. Building up an introduction, a thesis, and it’s main paragraphs. What I noticed was that I needed to add more supportive details, so I worked in that. I also worked on making my thesis statement more effective and to make the reader understand what I’m talking about. I would ask help from my classmates and sure enough it worked. We worked in many essays this year and thanks to that, now I could say I’m a better writer; I still need more work, but I’m good.

My first essay this semester was the Classical Argument Essay in which I wrote about how uneducated people tend to succeed more than those that are educated. I really needed information about this and then I remembered that Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs succeeded without them finishing all their education. Mark Zuckerberg is the creator of Facebook in which in less than a year he became one of the wealthiest people in the world. He did one of the best social networks in history. Steve Jobs found his way with being the founder/creator of Apple in which a lot of people use. There is many different ways to succeed; you just have to find the easiest ways even if you don’t finish your full education.

My second essay was about whether my time in school is well spent; how Donna North High School should revise students’ schedules to maximize learning, teach time management, and prepare students successfully for their future careers. My main argument in this essay was time management because we get to school like two hours before it starts. It’s really stressing to wake early just to sit around and do nothing in the morning. I also talked about distractions in class as my supportive details. This essay was a really good one because of my argument.

Next essay was the group documented one where we worked in groups of four or less; each classmate was assigned a topic and at the end we put it up all together. In our group documented essay we had to explain what kind of classes we need and to not take the ones we don’t. This essay was really tough for me because I had to research many things about what kind of classes are really needed in high school; that count. I can honestly say this was my toughest essay, but I’m glad I managed to finish it.

The last and final essay was my rogerian essay in which I wrote about how technology can distract us during class and if we should be provided laptops, tablets or Ipads. Of course I said no because there is many social networks out there that many people use, including YouTube as well; and there goes my other argument. Even though there is many proxies that can block websites, the students tend to unblock proxies and keep on with their social life. I really liked this essay as well.

So no matter what kinds of things you do, keep away from distractions, focus on school, and succeed in the future. Our main goal for us “teens” is to become someone successful in life. I wouldn’t say I’m the greatest writer there is, but I try my best. I really like competing with other people; that is why I try even harder and now I’m ranked number eighteen in my class. I want to be someone in life, and I’m working on my college stuff. Writing is a really good way to succeed because it prepares you for college and it helps out depending on what you are going to be in the future and it prepares you for college.
